Blood orange sugar syrup

2 dl blood orange juice
100 g sugar

Sugar rim

2 tbsp blood orange juice
2 tbsp sugar
1 lime, rinsed with hot water, dabbed dry, grated zest, all of the juice set aside

Cocktail

1 dl orange liqueur (e.g. Cointreau)
1 dl tequila
some ice cubes

Blood orange sugar syrup

Bring the blood orange juice and sugar to the boil in a pan, boil until the sugar has melted, leave the syrup to cool.

Sugar rim

Dip the rim of each glass in the blood orange juice, mix the sugar and grated lime zest, twist the rim in the sugar, chill.

Cocktail

Pour the blood orange syrup, reserved lime juice, liqueur, tequila and ice cubes into a shaker and shake well.

Pour the cocktail into the prepared glasses, serve immediately.
