When you're short of time in the morning, your absolute favourite is toast but you fancy spreading something other than the usual butter & jam on it, then these 3 irresistible toppings are just the job!

Dark almond crème

2 tbsp dark almond cream
2 tbsp maple syrup
1 tbsp cocoa powder
2 tbsp soya drink
1 tsp vanilla paste
4 freshly baked sesame bagels

Coconut-almond crème

2 tbsp white almond cream
2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
2 tbsp coconut flakes
2 tbsp coconut milk
1 tsp vanilla paste
4 freshly baked sesame bagels

Berry & chia seed jam

125 g blueberries, fresh or frozen
125 g raspberries, fresh or frozen
some lemon balm leaves, finely chopped
1 ½ dl water
3 tbsp chia seeds
3 ½ tbsp coconut palm sugar
1 pinch Himalayan salt
4 freshly baked sesame bagels

Dark almond crème

Mix all the ingredients until smooth, refrigerate.

Toast the bagels according to the packet instructions, fill with the crème.

Coconut-almond crème

Mix all the ingredients until smooth, refrigerate.

Toast the bagels according to the packet instructions, fill with the crème.

Berry & chia seed jam

Boil the berries, lemon balm and water for 5-7 mins. Reduce the heat, add the chia seeds, coconut blossom sugar and salt, simmer for 5-7 mins., stirring occasionally. Ideally, refrigerate overnight or serve after 15 mins.

Toast the bagels according to the packet instructions, fill with the berry & chia seed jam.

Good to know
Tip: The various spreads can be kept in the fridge, in a screw-top jar, for up to 4 days. Without milk, the spreads can be kept for longer - with milk up to a maximum of 4 days.
Tip: Top your porridge/muesli with approx. 2 tsp of your chosen spread or mix into smoothies.
Tip: Double the flavour: Spread 1-2 tsp of coconut-almond crème or dark almond butter on the bagel, then top with 2 tsp of the jam and enjoy.
