Syrup

1dl water
2tbsp sugar
2tbsp lemon juice
1 vanilla pod, cut open lengthwise
600g fruit seasonal, cut into pieces
Purchase ingredients now

How it's done

Syrup

Bring the water to the boil along with the sugar, lemon juice and vanilla pod, reduce for approx. 5 mins. to half the amount, leave to cool.

Mix the fruit with syrup, cover and leave to steep for approx. 30 mins.

Good to know
Note: Adapt the amount of sugar to suit the variety and ripeness of the fruit.
Serve with: Vanilla ice cream, whipped cream or yoghurt
