Inspiration and decoration tips for an unforgettable birthday party
The older we get, the less we celebrate our birthdays. We used to always have big parties or go to restaurants to enjoy a meal with a few friends. These days, however, our friends tend to avoid making a big deal. Too much work, too little time, too short on cash. Such a shame. Well show you how you can host a cool evening of birthday drinks without too much work, while still impressing your guests.
We think drinks and canapés are the perfect solution for a sophisticated birthday celebration. Forget the boring crisps and pretzels, try out creative FOOBY recipes instead. Every guest can then take as much or as little as they’d like and you can provide something for everyone; whether they’re vegetarian, someone who prefers to keep a vegan diet, or someone who’ll eat anything.
And you don’t need to always use boring paper plates, you can sit comfortably at a beautifully laid dinner table. We serve classic canapés bursting with easy FOOBY recipes, inventively as the centrepiece on a long wooden board in the middle of the table. Some of our favourites are the little FOOBY focaccias: we like to cover them generously with tomatoes, olives and delicious pesto. Add plenty of greenery, and your culinary centrepiece will look absolutely stunning.
It should all be straightforward and not appear too chic. We also love place cards. And you’ll find trees and shrubs with crisp leaves almost anywhere in your district. Simply use a white pen to write the guests’ names on the leaves – et voilà.
You can surprise them again for dessert, namely with a FOOBY doughnut birthday cake. Simply stack a couple doughnuts on a plate or cake stand, stick in a couple sparklers and belt out “Happy Birthday” at the top of your lungs. :)
