What would you like to cook?
If it were up to her, the whole year could be pumpkin season.
Fresh herbs, chillies and curry paste are always in Stephi’s kitchen. She collects her favourite recipes in the FOOBY app, organizes them in various cookbooks and transfers her shopping list directly to a shopping app. On the weekend the project manager likes nothing better than a cosy dinner with a glass of red wine.
Stephi is a project manager in the FOOBY team and responsible for placing FOOBY content on third-party media. Together with Doro she also manages the FOOBY social media channels. And, like many other people, she’s not fond of Brussels sprouts.
The most memorable dish your grandma made?
Grandma’s mashed potatoes and apple pie will never be forgotten.
Which fragrance evokes positive memories for you?
The scent of freshly baked plaited bread, which we always had on Sunday morning.
What is your best cooking memory?
A finca in Ibiza, lots of hungry friends and a barbecue.
What is your favourite food?
I love Asian and Italian food – but I can't decide between them. Someone can make me very happy with an authentic curry or home-made pasta. And I really like Italian antipasti.
And your favourite restaurant?
That’s difficult. I’m a big fan of covered markets with different stands where everyone can buy what they want. I can highly recommend the covered market in Madrid, the Old Biscuit Mill in Cape Town and the Markthalle in Basel.
Which dish do you most like cooking?
I never tire of preparing all kinds of Asian dishes – from soups through noodles to curries.
Which kitchen utensil could you not do without?
My favourite wok.
Who would you like to share a kitchen with?
Not so much the kitchen – but one of those Thai pancake carts with a Thai lady. They often sit at the side of the road and prepare Thai pancakes with a variety of fillings (condensed milk, mango, banana, Nutella). Yum! I can’t make them as well as they do.

What ingredient have you recently re-discovered?
I’m a big fan of pumpkin – either in the oven with rosemary and olive oil, in salads with beetroot and feta or in a curry – such a versatile vegetable.
Burrata is my absolute happy soul food.
