The social media and content manager loves to try new things and looks to food blogs, cookbooks and seasonal vegetables for inspiration. Doro is a big fan of avocado, pizza with rocket and the Asian cuisine. Summer rolls (with mango, salmon and Thai basil) and stir-fry dishes often make an appearance at her dinner table.

What «new» dish and what new ingredient did you recently discover?
Baked sweet potatoes and beluga lentils.
Have you got a «secret ingredient» that always lends that special something to your cooking?
Cinnamon and mint! Many people associate cinnamon with Christmas or desserts, but I love to put it in muesli, combine it with fennel or in a pumpkin soup. Also, I’m always surprised how much of a difference a few sprigs of mint make in, for instance, a summer roll or a pea soup.
How did you get into cooking?
I’ve actually always loved cooking – even when I still lived with my parents. When I was studying and living in a shared flat, I began to cook more with other people and tried out new dishes.
Which cooking utensil can you not go without?
A garlic press (I hate it when my hands smell like garlic).
What’s the most important mealtime for you?
Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day – I don’t understand people who have no appetite in the mornings. I could hardly leave the house without having my bowl of muesli. At the weekends, you can’t beat a good brunch.
The smell of freshly baked bread always evokes happy memories in me.
