Raclette cheese toasties
Ingredients
for 4 people
| 1 tbsp | olive oil |
| 3 | onions, thinly sliced |
| 2 tbsp | balsamic vinegar |
| 2 tbsp | water |
| 1 tbsp | birnel (pear syrup) |
| ¼ tsp | salt |
| a little | pepper |
| 250 g | brown bread, in 12 slices, toasted |
| 440 g | raclette cheese in slices |
| 1 tsp | smoked paprika |
How it's done
Onion
Heat the oil in a non-stick frying pan. Add the onions, cover and cook for approx. 15 mins., stirring occasionally. Add the balsamic, water and pear syrup, continue to cook the onions (uncovered) for approx. 10 mins. until they caramelize. Season the onions, set aside.
Raclette
Place the slices of bread in the raclette pans, top with raclette cheese, and melt under a raclette grill for approx. 8 mins. Remove from the grill, top with the reserved onions and peppers.
