Yeast cake with bacon
Ingredients
for 12 pieces
| 250 g | white flour |
| ½ tsp | sugar |
| 1 tsp | salt |
| ½ cube | yeast, crumbled |
| 30 g | butter |
| 1 ½ dl | milk |
| ½ tbsp | milk |
| 160 g | diced bacon |
| 1 tsp | caraway seeds |
How it's done
Dough
In a bowl, mix the flour with all the other ingredients up to and including the yeast. Add the butter and milk, mix, knead to form a soft, smooth dough. Place the dough in the prepared tin and press flat. Cover and leave to rise at room temperature for approx. 2 hrs. until doubled in size.
Topping
Brush the dough with milk, then sprinkle with bacon and caraway seeds.
To bake
Approx. 30 mins. on the bottom shelf of an oven preheated to 220 °C. Remove from the oven, allow to cool slightly and serve lukewarm.
