Apple and caramel scones
Ingredients
for 8 pieces
300 g | white flour |
50 g | caramel cubes |
1 tsp | cinnamon |
2 tsp | baking powder |
½ tsp | salt |
70 g | butter, cut into pieces, cold |
100 g | dried apple segments, coarsely chopped |
1 ½ dl | milk |
1 tbsp | milk |
How it's done
Dough
In a bowl, mix the flour with all the other ingredients up to and including the salt. Add the butter and rub together using your hands to form an even, crumbly mixture. Add the apples, mix, pour in the milk, mix quickly to form a soft dough; do not knead.
To shape
On a lightly floured surface, flatten the dough to approx. 2 cm thick (approx. 18 cm in diameter), cut into 8 pieces, place the scones on a baking tray lined with baking paper, brush with milk.
To bake
Approx. 30 mins. in the centre of an oven preheated to 180 °C. Remove from the oven, leave to cool on a rack.
