Chestnut hummus with caramelized onions

Ingredients

for 4 people

Onions
1 tbsp butter
onions, halved, cut into thin strips
1 tbsp liquid honey (e.g. chestnut honey)
3 sprig thyme, leaves torn off
¼ tsp salt
Hummus
200 g cooked chestnuts (soft)
1 tin chickpeas (approx. 120 g), rinsed, drained
1 ½ dl water
2 tbsp tahini (sesame paste)
2 tbsp olive oil
4 sprig thyme, leaves torn off
¾ tsp salt

How it's done

Onions

Heat the butter in a pan. Add the onions, sauté for approx. 10 mins. until soft, stirring occasionally. Add the honey and thyme, continue to cook for approx. 5 mins. until the onions caramelize, season with salt.

Hummus

Place the chestnuts and all the other ingredients in a measuring cup, puree. Serve the hummus on a platter, top with the onions.
