Figs wrapped in bacon
Ingredients
for 12 pieces
| 12 | figs |
| 125 g | cream cheese, plain |
| 1 | red chilli, deseeded, finely chopped |
| ½ tbsp | Za'atar (spice mix) |
| ¼ tsp | salt |
| 12 | bacon strips |
| 1 tbsp | liquid honey |
How it's done
Figs
Slice a cross in the top half of the figs, pull apart slightly. Mix the cream cheese with all the other ingredients up to and including the salt, stuff the filling into the top of the figs. Wrap each fig in a rasher of bacon, place in the prepared dish.
Bake
Approx. 15 mins. in the upper half of an oven preheated to 220 °C. Remove, drizzle the honey on top of the figs, allow to cool slightly, serve.
