Beef steak with cherry salsa
Ingredients
for 4 people
| 2 tbsp | balsamic vinegar |
| 1 tbsp | olive oil |
| 1 tbsp | maple syrup |
| ¼ tsp | salt |
| ¼ tsp | pink peppercorn, crushed |
| 500 g | cherries, pitted, halved |
| ½ | red onion, finely chopped |
| 4 | rib eye steaks (each approx. 150 g) |
| ¾ tsp | salt |
| a little | pink peppercorn, crushed |
| 1 tbsp | maple syrup |
How it's done
Cherry salsa
Combine the balsamic, oil and maple syrup, season. Add the cherries and onions, mix.
Charcoal/gas/electric grill
Season the steaks, grill over/on a very high heat (approx. 240 °C) for approx. 3 mins. on each side. Brush the steaks with maple syrup. Carve the meat into thin slices, serve with the salsa.
