Dates and goat's cheese on toast with bacon

Ingredients

for 4 pieces

Bacon
80 g country bacon, sliced
Spread
150 g soft goats' cheese
125 g cream cheese, plain
red chilli, deseeded, finely chopped
¼ tsp salt
a little  pepper
4 slice sourdough bread (approx. 200 g), toasted
Toast
50 g Medjool dates, pitted, cut into thin strips
¼ tsp fennel seeds, finely crushed
1 tbsp liquid honey

How it's done

Bacon

Without adding any oil, gently fry the bacon in a non-stick frying pan until crispy, remove.

Spread

Mix the goat's cheese, cream cheese and chilli in a bowl, season. Spread on top of the slices of bread.

Toast

Tear the bacon and place on top of the toast along with the dates. Sprinkle with fennel seeds, drizzle with honey.
