Three Kings' strudel with spinach and feta
Ingredients
for 4 person
2 tbsp | olive oil |
2 | onions, finely chopped |
2 | garlic cloves, squeezed |
500 g | frozen leaf spinach, defrosted, drained |
1 | red chilli, deseeded, finely chopped |
½ tsp | salt |
a little | pepper |
200 g | feta, crumbled |
1 parcel | strudel pastry (120 g) |
60 g | butter, liquide, refroidi |
1 | almond |
1 tbsp | sesame seeds |
How it's done
Filling
Heat the oil in a non-stick frying pan. Add the onions and garlic, sauté for approx. 5 mins., add the spinach and chilli, cook for approx. 10 mins., season, leave to cool. Mix in the feta.
Three Kings' strudel
Carefully unfold the pastry sheets. Place 2 sheets next to each other on the work surface, overlapping by approx. 10 cm, brush with a little butter. Spread one third of the filling on top, fold in the ends, roll up into a strudel, twist to create a spiral, place on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Brush the remaining pastry sheets with a little butter and place them on top of each other. Spread the remainder of the filling on top along with the almond (king), roll up into a strudel, cut into 10 slices, place around the spiral. Brush the Three Kings' strudel with the remainder of the butter, sprinkle with sesame seeds.
To bake
Approx. 35 mins. in the centre of an oven preheated to 200°C. Remove from the oven, allow to cool slightly and serve lukewarm.
