Pizza whirls with cured ham
Ingredients
for 12 pieces
| 1 tbsp | olive oil |
| 2 | red onions, sliced |
| ¼ tsp | salt |
| a little | pepper |
| 2 | pears (e.g. Kaiser Alexander), thinly sliced |
| 50 g | grated Sbrinz |
| 200 g | double cream cheese (e.g. Philadelphia) |
| 2 tbsp | milk |
| 2 tsp | thyme, finely chopped |
| 2 tsp | grated horseradish in a jar |
| salt and pepper to taste |
| 1 | pizza dough, rolled into a rectangle (approx. 550 g) |
| 100 g | cured ham in slices |
How it's done
Onions & pears
Heat the oil, sauté the onions for approx. 3 mins., season. Mix in the pears and cheese, leave to cool, set aside.
Cream cheese
Combine the cream cheese with the milk, thyme and horseradish, season.
To shape & bake the whirls
Roll out the dough, spread the cream cheese over the dough, top with the cured ham. Spoon the onion & pear mixture on top. Roll up the dough tightly, cut into approx. 2 cm slices (approx. 12 pieces). Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
Bake for approx. 25 mins. in the centre of an oven preheated to 200°C.
Remove from the oven, serve lukewarm or cold.
