Caramel and apple cake
Ingredients
for 8 pieces
| 150 g | butter, cut into pieces, soft |
| 200 g | sugar |
| 1 pinch | salt |
| 4 | eggs |
| 2 | red-skinned apples |
| 80 g | soft caramels |
| 250 g | white flour |
| 1 tsp | baking powder |
How it's done
Cake
Beat the butter, sugar and salt until light and creamy. Add the eggs one at a time and continue to beat for approx. 5 mins. until the mixture turns paler in colour.
Cut the apples into slices, roughly chop the fudge, mix both with the flour and baking powder and add them to the cake mix. Line a cake form (approx. 26 cm) with baking parchment and pour in the cake mix.
Bake
for approx. 70 mins. in the centre of an oven preheated to 180°C. Remove from the oven, allow to cool a little, remove from the tin and leave to cool on a rack.
