Christmas tree cinnamon cookies
Ingredients
for 2 pieces
125 g | butter |
75 g | liquid honey |
1 pinch | salt |
½ tsp | cinnamon |
1 | egg |
100 g | ground hazelnuts |
225 g | spelt flour |
¼ tsp | baking powder |
2 | cinnamon stick |
icing sugar to dust |
How it's done
Beat all the ingredients up to and including the egg for approx. 5 mins. using the whisk on a hand mixer.
Add the remaining ingredients and mix to create a soft dough, knead briefly. Cover and chill for approx. 30 mins.
To shape, roll out the dough into a rectangle of approx. 18 x 24 cm. Cut lengthwise into three strips of different widths (approx. 7 cm, 6 cm, 5 cm). Cut the bottom strip into triangles.
Using the smooth nozzle of a piping bag, cut out holes of approx. 12 mm in diameter. Place the triangles onto a tray lined with baking paper.
Repeat the process with the two other strips.
Bake for 12-15 mins. in the centre of an oven preheated to 180°C.
To construct
Place the biggest biscuits onto the cinnamon stick first, then the medium-sized biscuits and finally the smallest biscuits. Dust with icing sugar.
