Golden milk porridge

Nothing is more comforting in winter than a good golden latte. Now picture this as a porridge – perfect for a wonderfully cosy breakfast. The seductive scent of cinnamon mixed with the spicy notes of turmeric and ginger will make you forget the cold and dismal weather in an instant.

Ingredients

for 4 portions

Porridge
160 g rolled oats
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp ginger powder
a little  pepper
5 dl almond drink
4 tbsp maple syrup
Topping
4 tbsp vegan plain yoghurt substitute (coconut)
a little  cinnamon, to dust

How it's done

Porridge

Empty the oats into a pan along with all the other ingredients up to and including the maple syrup, bring to the boil while stirring. Reduce the heat, simmer for approx. 5 mins. while stirring. Serve the porridge in heat-resistant glasses or mugs, allow to cool for approx. 10 mins.

Topping

Top the porridge with the yoghurt substitute, dust with cinnamon.
