These high-protein bagels with cottage cheese are light and fluffy, full of flavour, and can be made in no time in the oven or air fryer. Light, versatile and perfect at any time of the day – simply fill them to suit your taste.

Ingredients

for 8 pieces

Dough
250 g white flour
2 tsp salt
1 parcel baking powder
400 g plain cottage cheese
To shape
egg, beaten
1 tbsp sesame seeds
½ tbsp black sesame seeds
½ tbsp garlic powder
½ tbsp blue poppy seeds
1 tsp salt

How it's done

Dough

Mix the flour, salt and baking powder in a bowl. Add the cottage cheese, knead into a smooth, soft dough. Cover and leave to stand at room temperature for approx. 5 mins.

To shape

On a lightly floured surface, divide the dough into 8 equal portions, shape into balls. Using the lightly floured handle of a wooden spoon, make a hole in the centre of each. Allow the dough rings to form around the spoon handle until the opening measures approx. 4 cm in diameter. Place the bagels on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Glaze the bagels with egg. In a small bowl, mix the sesame seeds with all the other ingredients, sprinkle on top of the bagels.

To bake

Approx. 30 mins. in the centre of an oven preheated to 180 °C. Remove, leave the bagels to cool on a rack.
