Hot honey minced beef bowl

Spicy, hot, sweet, refreshing – this bowl is a true festival of flavours! We tried out this viral social media recipe and can totally understand why it's currently on everyone's lips. The hot honey adds the finishing touch!

Ingredients

for 4 people

Taco seasoning
2 tsp smoked paprika
2 tsp cumin
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp chilli flakes
1 ½ tsp salt
Sweet potatoes
600 g sweet potatoes, cut into approx. 2 cm cubes
2 tbsp olive oil
Hot honey
4 tbsp liquid honey
1 tsp Sriracha sauce
a little  chilli flakes
Mince
  olive oil for frying
400 g minced meat (beef)
Bowl
avocados, cut into cubes
400 g plain cottage cheese

How it's done

Taco seasoning

Place the paprika in a bowl with all the other ingredients up to and including the salt, mix well.

Sweet potatoes

Place the sweet potatoes and olive oil in a bowl, add half of the taco seasoning, mix well, and spread onto a baking tray lined with baking paper.

To roast

Approx. 20 mins. in the centre of an oven preheated to 220 °C.

Hot honey

Place the honey, Sriracha sauce and chilli flakes in a small bowl, mix well, set aside.

Mince

Heat a dash of oil in a frying pan. Add the meat, fry for approx. 5 mins. Sprinkle with the remainder of the taco seasoning, mix. Remove the pan from the heat.

Bowl

Serve the avocados and cottage cheese with the sweet potatoes and meat in the bowls. Drizzle with the hot honey.
