Carbonara gratin

Ingredients

for 4 people

Pasta
400 g pasta (e.g. penne)
  salted water, boiling
Bacon
300 g smoked bacon, cut into cubes
Sauce
4 dl single cream
egg
80 g grated Parmesan
¼ tsp salt
a little  pepper

How it's done

Pasta

Cook the pasta in boiling salted water until al dente, drain and retain approx. 150 ml of the cooking water, set aside. Transfer the pasta to the prepared dish.

Bacon

In a frying pan, gently fry the bacon until crispy. Remove, drain on kitchen paper, mix in with the pasta.

Sauce

Place the cream and all the other ingredients in a bowl, mix well. Pour in the reserved cooking water, mix, pour over the pasta.

To bake

Approx. 15 mins. in the centre of an oven preheated to 200 °C. Remove, plate up.
