Horchata
Ingredients
for 1 litre
| 150 g | long grain rice |
| ½ | cinnamon stick |
| 5 dl | water |
| 100 g | sweetened condensed milk |
| 5 dl | water |
| some | ice cubes |
| a little | cinnamon |
How it's done
Rice
Rinse the rice in a sieve under cold running water until the water runs clear. Place the rice and cinnamon stick in a bowl, add water, cover, and leave to infuse in the refrigerator for at least 6 hrs. or overnight.
Rice water
Place the rice, water and a 1 cm piece of cinnamon stick in a blender, puree for approx. 5 mins. until smooth. Pour the mixture into a sieve lined with a cheesecloth, leave to drain and squeeze out well.
Horchata
Place the condensed milk and the rice water in a blender, puree.
To serve
Pour the horchata into glasses, add some ice cubes, sprinkle with cinnamon.
