Caramel affogato
Ingredients
for 4 people
1 | red-skinned apple |
½ tbsp | butter |
1 ½ tbsp | sugar |
½ tsp | cinnamon |
4 | wooden skewers |
250 g | caramel ice cream |
4 | espressos, hot |
2 tbsp | walnut kernels, roasted, coarsely chopped |
How it's done
Apple skewers
Core the apple using an apple corer, cut into rings approx. 1.5 cm wide. Heat the butter in a pan. Add the apple rings, fry for approx. 2 mins. on each side. Place the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl, mix, toss the apple rings in the mixture, thread onto the skewers.
Affogato
Shape the ice cream into balls using an ice cream scoop, divide between the glasses. Pour the hot espressos over the top, decorate with the apple skewers, sprinkle with the walnuts.
