Apple and pear marble cake
Ingredients
for 12 pieces
| 125 g | butter, soft |
| 180 g | sugar |
| 1 pinch | salt |
| 3 | eggs |
| 1 ½ dl | milk |
| 225 g | white flour |
| 1 tsp | baking powder |
| 1 tbsp | cocoa powder |
| 1 tbsp | cinnamon |
| 1 | apple, deseeded, cut into pieces |
| 1 | pear, deseeded, cut into pieces |
| 2 tbsp | hazelnuts, coarsely chopped |
| icing sugar, to dust |
How it's done
Cake mixture
Place the butter, sugar and salt in a bowl, mix using the whisk attachment on a mixer. Add the eggs one at a time and continue to beat until the mixture becomes lighter in colour. Mix in the milk. Combine the flour and baking powder, mix in. Divide the cake mixture into two portions, mix the cocoa powder and cinnamon into one half of the mixture. Using one tablespoon each, spoon the cake mixtures alternately into the cake tin.
Topping
Arrange the apples, pears and hazelnuts on top of the mixture.
To bake
Approx. 40 mins. in the lower half of an oven preheated to 180 °C. Remove from the oven, allow to cool slightly, remove the tin frame, slide the cake onto a cooling rack and leave to cool completely.
To decorate
Dust the cake with icing sugar.
