Balsamic shallots
Ingredients
for 2 people
| 2 tbsp | sugar |
| 1 tbsp | water |
| 250 g | shallots, peeled |
| 1 dl | vegetable bouillon |
| 1 dl | balsamic vinegar |
| 4 sprig | thyme |
| ½ tsp | black peppercorns, finely crushed |
How it's done
Shallots
Bring the sugar and water to the boil without stirring. Reduce the heat and simmer, swirling the pan occasionally until a light brown caramel has formed. Add the shallots and all the remaining ingredients, bring to the boil. Reduce the heat, cover and simmer for approx. 15 mins. until just soft, stirring occasionally. Leave the shallots to cool in the liquid.
