Vegan crème brûlée
Ingredients
for 4 people
| 4 dl | vegan cream substitute (e.g. Karma Cooking Cream) |
| 2 ½ dl | soya drink |
| 65 g | sugar |
| 50 g | Maizena cornflour |
| 2 tsp | vanilla paste |
| 2 pinch | salt |
| 4 tbsp | sugar |
How it's done
Mixture
Using a whisk, mix together the cream substitute, soya drink, sugar, cornflour, vanilla and salt. Bring to the boil over a medium heat, stirring constantly. As soon as the mixture thickens and turns creamy, remove the pan from the heat and continue whisking for approx. 2 mins. Pour the custard into the ramekins, leave to cool, cover and chill for at least 4 hrs.
Caramelize
Sprinkle the sugar evenly over the custard just before serving, caramelize with the flame on a blowtorch.
