½ tsp | salt |
2 tbsp | cane sugar |
½ tbsp | cinnamon |
¼ cube | yeast (approx. 10 g), crumbled |
100 g | butter, cold, cut into pieces |

a little | clarified butter |
1 dl | full cream |
100 g | dark chocolate (64% cocoa), finely chopped |
¼ tsp | cinnamon |
How it's done
Dough
Mix the flour, salt, sugar, cinnamon and yeast in the food processor bowl. Add the butter and all the other ingredients up to and including the eggs. Using the dough hook on a food processor, knead the mixture to form a moist dough. Cover and leave to rise at room temperature for approx. 2 hrs. until doubled in size.
Waffles
Mix the sugar crystals into the dough. Heat the waffle iron, brush with a little clarified butter. Place approx. 3 heaped tablespoons of the dough onto the waffle iron for each waffle. Bake the waffles for approx. 5 mins. Remove from the oven, allow to cool slightly on a cooling rack. Repeat these steps with the remainder of the dough.
Chocolate sauce
Bring the cream to the boil in a pan while stirring. Add the chocolate and cinnamon, stir until smooth. Serve the chocolate sauce with the waffles.
