Chai star biscuits
Ingredients
for 25 pieces
| 150 g | vegan butter substitute, soft |
| 80 g | coarse cane sugar |
| 3 bag | Chai Tea, contents only |
| 1 pinch | salt |
| 250 g | half-white flour |
| 2 tbsp | coarse cane sugar |
| 1 bag | Chai Tea, contents only |
| 30 g | icing sugar |
| 1 ½ tsp | water |
| 1 bag | Chai Tea, contents only |
How it's done
Dough
Place the vegan butter, sugar, tea and salt in a bowl, mix using the whisk on a mixer. Add the flour, mix in with a wooden spoon, combine quickly to form a soft dough – do not knead. Flatten the dough, cover and chill for approx. 1 hr.
Biscuits
On a lightly floured surface or between two sheets of baking paper, roll out the dough in batches to approx. 7 mm thick. Cut out stars (approx. 6 cm in diameter). Mix the sugar and tea, sprinkle on top of the biscuits. Transfer the biscuits to a baking tray lined with baking paper.
Bake
Approx. 12 mins. per tray in the centre of an oven preheated to 180 °C. Remove from the oven, allow to cool slightly, leave the biscuits to cool completely on a rack.
Icing
Combine the icing sugar and water, dip the tips of the stars into the icing, sprinkle with the chai tea. Leave the biscuits to dry on a rack.
