Grilled Romanesco steaks with mango salsa
Ingredients
for 4 person
1 kg | Romanesco broccoli x |
salted water, boiling |
1 | mango, peeled, diced |
1 | red chilli, deseeded, finely chopped |
1 | red onion, finely chopped |
2 tbsp | white balsamic vinegar |
1 tbsp | olive oil |
½ tbsp | maple syrup |
1 | lime, rinsed with hot water, dabbed dry, grated zest |
¼ tsp | salt |
1 tbsp | olive oil |
1 tsp | salt |
How it's done
Vegetables
Cook the broccoli in boiling salted water for approx. 5 mins. until just soft. Remove the Romanesco with a slotted spoon, drain.
Mango and chilli salsa
In a bowl, mix the mango with all the other ingredients up to and including the salt.
Charcoal/gas/electric grill
Brush both sides of the Romanesco slices with oil, season with salt. With the lid up, grill over/on a medium heat (approx. 200 °C) for approx. 5 mins. on each side. Serve the Romanesco on a platter, top with the salsa.
