Herb syrup
Ingredients
for 5 dl
4 ½ dl | water |
½ bunch | basil |
½ bunch | peppermint |
3 sprig | thyme |
220 g | coarse cane sugar |
1 tbsp | lemon juice |
How it's done
Syrup
Bring the water to the boil in a pan. Remove the pan from the heat, add the herbs, cover and leave to infuse for approx. 15 mins. Remove the herbs, add the sugar and lemon juice, bring to the boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for approx. 5 mins. While still boiling hot, pour the syrup into a clean, warm bottle using a funnel and fill to just below the rim. Seal immediately and leave to cool.
