Chocolate and orange biscuits
Ingredients
for 40 pieces
200 g | spelt flour |
100 g | vegan dark chocolate, finely grated |
60 g | ground cane sugar |
2 tsp | vanilla sugar |
1 | organic orange, use grated zest |
1 pinch | salt |
100 g | margarine, cut into pieces, soft |
2 tbsp | oat drink or other vegan milk |
2 tbsp | orange juice |
130 g | vegan dark chocolate, finely chopped |
How it's done
Dough
Mix the flour, chocolate, sugar, vanilla sugar, orange zest and salt in a bowl. Add the margarine, oat milk and orange juice, combine to form a dough, flatten a little, cover and chill for approx. 1 hr.
Biscuits
On a lightly floured surface or between two sheets of baking paper, roll out the dough in batches to approx. 5 mm thick. Cut out different shapes (approx. 5 cm in diameter), place on two baking trays lined with baking paper.
Bake
Approx. 10 mins. per tray in the centre of an oven preheated to 180 °C. Remove from the oven, leave the biscuits to cool on a rack.
Decorate
Place the chocolate in a thin-sided bowl and suspend over a gently simmering bain-marie, ensuring that the bowl does not touch the water. Melt the chocolate and stir until smooth. Dip the biscuits half way into the chocolate, place on a sheet of baking paper, leave to dry.
