Bratwurst hot dogs
Ingredients
for 4 person
2 tbsp | butter |
2 | onions, cut into rings |
2 tbsp | balsamic cream mousse |
½ tsp | salt |
4 | St. Gallen veal bratwurst |
4 | bread rolls (e.g. organic Landbrötli) |
2 tbsp | mustard |
2 tbsp | blossom honey |
½ | cucumber, finely sliced lengthwise |
3 tbsp | capers |
How it's done
Onions
Heat the butter in a pan. Sauté the onions over a medium heat for approx. 20 mins., stirring occasionally. Add the balsamic, simmer for approx. 1 min., season with salt, leave to cool.
Charcoal/gas/electric grill
With the lid down, grill the sausages over/on a medium heat (approx. 200°C) for approx. 10 mins., turning occasionally. Remove the sausages from the grill, briefly toast the bread rolls on the grill.
Hot dogs
Combine the mustard and honey. Slice halfway into the rolls lengthwise. Spread the sauce over the cut surfaces. Fill the rolls with the sausages, onions, sliced cucumber and capers.
