Whiskey & cranberry cocktail

This cocktail offers a wonderful balance between sweet and spicy – between the fruity flavours of the fresh juices and the intensity of the whiskey and ginger. It's worth making your own ginger syrup to give the liqueur more of a kick. If you're in a rush, however, you can simply use a shop-bought ginger syrup.

Ingredients

for 1 person

Cocktail
2 tbsp whisky
1 tbsp cranberry juice (unsweetened)
3 tbsp orange juice, freshly squeezed
½ tbsp lemon juice
½ tbsp ginger syrup
½ tbsp ginger liqueur
some  ice cubes
To serve
some  ice cubes
2 dl ginger beer
1 sprig thyme
some  cranberries

How it's done

Cocktail

Empty all of the ingredients up to the ginger liqueur into the shaker. Top up the shaker with ice cubes, shake well for approx. 30 secs.

To serve

Place several ice cubes in a glass. Pour the cocktail through a sieve and into the glass. Pour the ginger beer over the top. Decorate the cocktail with thyme and cranberries.
