Quick bao buns
Ingredients
for 4 person
| 3 ½ tbsp | miso paste |
| 1 ½ tbsp | soy sauce |
| 1 tbsp | balsamic vinegar |
| 2 tbsp | water |
| 1 tsp | ground cane sugar |
| 250 g | beef strips |
| 1 tbsp | peanut oil |
| 150 g | carrots, strips cut off using a peeler |
| 800 g | pizza dough |
| a little | peanut oil |
| 1 tbsp | sesame seeds |
| 4 sprig | coriander, leaves torn off |
How it's done
Filling
In a bowl, mix the miso paste with all the other ingredients up to and including the cane sugar. Mix in the meat. Heat the oil in a non-stick frying pan. Brown the meat for approx. 3 mins. Mix in the carrots, remove the pan from the heat.
Buns
Roll out the dough to approx. 1 cm thick, cut out 12 circles (each approx. 8 cm in diameter) using a cutter. Brush the circles with a little oil, fold in the middle, place in the prepared baskets.
To steam
Place the steaming basket (with two levels) in a wide pan, fill with water until it is just below the bottom of the basket, cover and steam the buns over a medium heat for approx. 10 mins.
To serve
Place the filling in the bao buns. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and coriander, serve immediately.
