Naan with wild garlic
Ingredients
for 8 pieces
400 g | white flour |
1 ½ tsp | dry yeast |
1 ½ tsp | baking powder |
1 tsp | salt |
1 ¾ dl | milk |
2 tsp | honey |
180 g | plain greek yoghurt |
½ bunch | wild garlic, finely chopped |
20 g | salted butter |
½ bunch | wild garlic, finely chopped |
How it's done
Dough
Mix the flour, yeast, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Add the milk, honey and yoghurt. Knead for approx. 5 mins. using the dough hook on a food processor. Add the wild garlic and continue to knead for approx. 5 mins. Cover and leave to rise at room temperature for approx. 1½ hrs.
Wild garlic butter
Melt the butter in a pan, mix in the wild garlic.
To shape the naan
Divide the dough into 8 portions, shape into balls. On a lightly floured surface, roll out each ball into an oval approx. 2 mm thick. Preheat the oven to 60°C.
Naan
Cook the bread in a non-stick frying pan over a medium heat for approx. 3 mins. each until bubbles form on the surface. Turn the bread and cook for a further 2 mins., remove and brush with the butter, keep warm in the oven.
