Mulled wine granita
Ingredients
for 4 person
| 7 ½ dl | full-bodied red wine |
| 100 g | sugar |
| 1 | organic orange, zest peeled with a peeler |
| 1 | organic lemon, zest peeled with a peeler |
| 1 | cinnamon stick |
| 6 | cloves |
| 4 | allspice |
| some | peppermint leaves |
How it's done
Mulled wine
Pour the wine into a pan along with all the other ingredients up to and including the allspice, bring to the boil, reduce the heat, simmer over a low heat for approx. 20 mins. Remove the pan from the heat, leave to cool.
Granita
Pour the mulled wine through a sieve into a stainless steel bowl. Cover the mixture and freeze for at least 6 hrs. or overnight. Remove, scrape the mixture with a fork until grainy, divide between glasses, garnish with mint, serve immediately.
