Strawberry and basil pizza
Ingredients
for 4 person
400 g | multi grain flour |
1 ½ tsp | salt |
¼ cube | yeast (approx. 10 g), crumbled |
2 dl | water |
2 tbsp | olive oil |
2 tbsp | basil, finely chopped |
½ tbsp | olive oil |
100 g | strawberries, cut into pieces |
1 tsp | sugar |
1 tbsp | balsamic vinegar |
1 pinch | salt |
a little | pepper |
300 g | strawberries, cut in half |
125 g | mozzarella, torn into pieces |
a little | pepper |
100 g | blue cheese (e.g. Gorgonzola), cut into pieces |
½ bunch | basil, leaves torn off |
How it's done
Pizza dough
Mix the flour, salt and yeast in a bowl. Add the water, oil and basil, knead to form a soft, smooth dough. Cover and leave to rise at room temperature for approx. 1½ hrs. until doubled in size.
Strawberry sauce
Heat the oil in a pan. Add the strawberries and sugar, cook for approx. 3 mins. Add the balsamic, season, cover and simmer for approx. 5 mins. until soft, puree and set aside.
Topping
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into a rectangle (approx. 30 x 40 cm), place on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Spread the strawberries and mozzarella on top, season.
To bake
Approx. 25 mins. on the bottom shelf of an oven preheated to 240°C. Remove from the oven, top with the cheese, basil and reserved strawberry sauce.
