Apple and rice dish

Ingredients

for 2 person

Rice
150 g basmati rice (10 mins.)
2 ½ dl water
¼ tsp salt
Rice dish
farmers' bratwurst
1 tbsp olive oil
red-skinned apples, cut into slices
1 tsp sugar
¼ tsp salt
a little  pepper
2 tbsp fried onions

How it's done

Rice

Rinse the rice in a sieve under cold running water until the water runs clear, drain well. Bring the water, salt and rice to the boil, leave covered on a switched-off hob for approx. 15 mins. until fully absorbed; do not remove the lid.

Rice dish

Squeeze approx. 8 portions of sausage out of the skin and shape into balls. Heat the oil in a frying pan. Add the apples, fry for approx. 2 mins. on each side, remove from the pan. Fry the sausage balls in the same pan for approx. 5 mins., stirring occasionally. Add the apples and sugar, cook for approx. 1 min., season. Stir in the rice and heat gently. Top with fried onions.
