Bread salad with beef
Ingredients
for 4 person
1 tbsp | olive oil |
500 g | sirloin steaks, cut into approx. 2 cm cubes |
½ tsp | salt |
a little | pepper |
250 g | brown bread, cut into approx. 3 cm cubes |
500 g | cherry tomatoes, halved |
1 | cucumber, cut into approx. 2 cm cubes |
1 tbsp | mustard |
4 tbsp | white balsamic vinegar |
4 tbsp | olive oil |
2 tbsp | water |
2 | shallots, finely chopped |
3 tbsp | capers, drained |
salt and pepper to taste | |
½ bunch | basil, coarsely chopped |
How it's done
Beef
Heat the oil in a frying pan. Stir fry the meat in batches for approx. 1 min. per batch, remove from the heat, season.
Salad
Fry the cubes of bread in the same pan for approx. 5 mins., allow to cool slightly. Mix the bread, tomatoes, cucumber and meat in a large bowl.
Dressing
Mix the mustard with all the other ingredients up to and including the capers, season, then finally mix in the basil. Pour the dressing over the salad, mix.
