Ginger beer
Ingredients
for 2 litres
100 g | ginger, finely grated |
½ litre | water, boiling |
150 g | ground cane sugar |
2 | limes, rinsed with hot water, dabbed dry, use a little grated zest and the juice |
2 litre | sparkling mineral water |
ice cube, as desired |
How it's done
Ginger tea
Place the ginger in a measuring cup, pour the water over the top, allow to cool, cover and leave to steep for approx. 8 hrs. or overnight.
Ginger beer
Strain the ginger tea, add the sugar, stir until the sugar has dissolved. Add the lime zest and juice, top up with the mineral water, add the ice cubes, serve.
