Grilled bratwurst hot dogs with beer sauerkraut

Ingredients

for 4 person

Beer sauerkraut
500 g cooked sauerkraut
1 ½ dl dark beer
2 tbsp liquid honey
3 sprig thyme
bay leaf
¼ tsp salt
a little  pepper
To grill
pork bratwurst
baguette (approx. 400 g), cut into four, cut open
Hot dogs
2 tbsp coarse-grain mustard
2 tbsp mayonnaise
½ tbsp liquid honey
2 tbsp fried onions

How it's done

Beer sauerkraut

In a pan, mix the sauerkraut with all the other ingredients up to and including the pepper, cover and simmer for approx. 20 mins. Remove the thyme and bay leaf.

To grill

Charcoal/gas/electric grill: Grill the sausages over/on a medium heat (approx. 200 °C for approx. 10 mins. on all sides. Briefly grill the bread (cut side down) alongside.

Hot dogs

Mix the mustard, mayonnaise and honey. Spread the sauerkraut on the bread, place the sausage on top, add the mustard mayonnaise and fried onions.
