Vegan burger made with black beans
Ingredients
for 6 pieces
1 tin | black beans (net weight approx. 290 g), rinsed and drained |
1 | red onion, coarsely chopped |
1 | yellow pepper, coarsely chopped |
1 | garlic clove |
1 tbsp | BBQ sauce (Sriracha) |
25 g | breadcrumbs |
1 tsp | chilli powder |
1 tsp | onion powder |
1 tsp | ground cumin |
1 tsp | smoked paprika |
1 tbsp | Maizena cornflour |
1 tbsp | water, cold |
oil for frying |
How it's done
Put the drained beans, onion, pepper and garlic into a food processor. Push the mixer button a few times until everything has been chopped, but is still coarse. Put the mixture into a bowl, stir in the sauce, breadcrumbs and seasoning. Stir the cornflour into the water, stir into the mixture.
With wet hands, shape the mixture into 6 burgers. Fry in hot oil for approx. 1 1/2 mins. on each side until golden-brown.
