Hearty French toasts
Ingredients
for 2 person
2 | egg |
3 tbsp | full-cream milk |
4 slice | brown bread day-old, (approx. 200 g) |
1 tbsp | clarified butter |
salt and pepper to taste |
2 tbsp | vinegar |
2 tbsp | olive oil |
salt and pepper to taste | |
120 g | lambs' lettuce |
How it's done
French toast
Beat eggs in a bowl, add milk, stir. Place bread slices into the egg mixture, allow to steep for approx. 5 mins, turn once. Heat the clarified butter in a non-stick frying pan, fry the bread slices in batches for approx. 3 mins. per batch, season and keep warm.
Lamb's lettuce
Combine the vinegar and oil, season. Add the lamb’s lettuce and mix well. Arrange the lamb’s lettuce on the French toast slices.
