Apple & cinnamon flan
Ingredients
for 4 person
| 800 g | red-skinned apples, cores removed, unpeeled and cut into segments approx. 4 mm thick |
| 2 tbsp | liquid honey |
| 2 tbsp | lemon juice |
| 1 tsp | cinnamon |
| 1 | fruit bread (approx. 250 g), halved crosswise, cut into slices approx. 4 mm thick |
| 3 dl | milk |
| 2 dl | single cream |
| 3 tbsp | cane sugar |
| 2 | eggs |
| 1 pinch | salt |
| a little | cinnamon |
How it's done
Flan
In a bowl, mix the apple segments with the honey, lemon juice and cinnamon.
Place a layer of apples (approx. 1/3) on the base of a greased, round baking dish (approx. 250 ml). Layer the rest of the apples alternately with the slices of bread, in a circular pattern.
Sauce & baking
Combine the milk with the single cream, sugar, eggs and salt, mix well and pour over the bake. Cover the dish with foil.
Bake for approx. 30 mins. in the bottom half of an oven preheated to 200°C. Remove the foil and finish baking approx. 15 mins. in the top half of the oven.
Sprinkle with cinnamon before serving.
