Ingredients

for 7 dl

Glühwein
7 ½ dl full-bodied red wine
50 g cane sugar
organic orange, halved and sliced
cinnamon stick
cloves
star anise
cardamom pods, seeds removed
1 pinch nutmeg

How it's done

Glühwein

In a pan, bring the wine and all the ingredients up to and including the nutmeg to just below boiling point, stirring occasionally. Remove the pan from the heat, cover and leave to infuse for approx. 10 mins., heat up again then pour into cups through a sieve.
