Hazelnut baked apples

Ingredients

for 4 person

Apples
apples (e. g. Golden Delicious, approx. 200 g each)
1 dl fruit juice
1 dl water
Filling
2 tbsp sugar
4 tbsp ground hazelnuts
2 tbsp sultanas
½  organic lemon, use grated zest only
a little  cinnamon
To cook
10 g butter
2 dl cream, whipped

How it's done

Apples

Peel the apples, remove the cores using an apple corer. Place the apples in a pan, pour in the fruit juice and water, cover and simmer for approx. 10 mins. until almost soft. Remove the apples from the liquid and transfer to the prepared dish. Set aside the liquid.

Filling

Mix the sugar with all the other ingredients up to and including the cinnamon, add 2 tbsp of the reserved liquid. Stuff the apples with the filling.

To cook

Pour the remaining liquid around the apples. Top the apples with knobs of butter. Bake for approx. 20 mins. in the lower half of an oven preheated to 220°C. Serve with cream.
