Irish whisky BBQ sauce
Ingredients
for 3 dl
500 g | tomatoes, cut into pieces |
1 | onion, coarsely chopped |
2 | garlic cloves, coarsely chopped |
3 tbsp | honey |
3 tbsp | soy sauce |
2 tbsp | tomato puree |
3 tbsp | whisky (e.g. Jameson Irish Whiskey) |
¼ tsp | salt |
¼ tsp | cayenne pepper |
1 tsp | whisky (e.g. Jameson Irish Whiskey) |
How it's done
Place the tomatoes and all the other ingredients up to and including the cayenne pepper in a pan, bring to the boil while stirring. Reduce the heat, simmer for approx. 20 mins. until the mixture thickens, puree and pass through a sieve. Stir in the whisky.
