Irish whisky BBQ sauce

Ingredients

for 3 dl

500 g tomatoes, cut into pieces
onion, coarsely chopped
garlic cloves, coarsely chopped
3 tbsp honey
3 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp tomato puree
3 tbsp whisky (e.g. Jameson Irish Whiskey)
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp whisky (e.g. Jameson Irish Whiskey)

How it's done

Place the tomatoes and all the other ingredients up to and including the cayenne pepper in a pan, bring to the boil while stirring. Reduce the heat, simmer for approx. 20 mins. until the mixture thickens, puree and pass through a sieve. Stir in the whisky.
