Beef with black sesame seeds

Ingredients

for 4 person

Marinade
2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
2 tbsp black sesame seeds
1 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp honey
red chilli, deseeded, cut into rings
Meat
600 g beef rump, cut into 1 cm strips
1 tbsp oil
Vegetables
1 tbsp oil
spring onion, onions sliced, greens cut into rings
250 g mini asparagus, halved crosswise
100 g shiitake mushroom, quartered
2 tbsp water
1 tbsp soy sauce

How it's done

Marinade

Combine all the ingredients with a whisk, set aside 2 tbsp of the marinade.

Meat

Mix the meat with the marinade, cover and marinate for approx. 30 mins. Wipe away the marinade, heat the oil in a frying pan. Stir fry the meat in batches for approx. 2 mins. per batch, remove from the pan, set aside.

Vegetables

Heat the oil in the same pan, sauté the spring onions, add the asparagus and mushrooms, cook briefly for approx. 2 mins. Pour in the water and soy sauce, bring to the boil. Simmer for approx. 2 mins. Mix in the reserved marinade, add the meat, heat gently.
