Cinnamon apples
Ingredients
for 4 person
| 4 | apples (e.g. Braeburn) |
| 100 g | hazelnuts, coarsely chopped |
| 3 tbsp | liquid honey |
| ½ tsp | cinnamon |
| 2 ½ dl | orange juice |
| 1 | cinnamon stick |
| 1 | star anise |
How it's done
Slice a lid approx. 2 cm thick off the top of each apple. Remove the core using an apple corer. Mix the nuts, honey and cinnamon, spoon the mixture into the apples, place the lids back on top. Bring the orange juice to the boil with the cinnamon and star anise, reduce the heat. Add the apples, drizzle with a little liquid, cover and simmer gently on a low heat for approx. 15 mins.
