Maple syrup stars with cloves
Ingredients
for 35 pieces
125 g | butter, soft |
1 dl | maple syrup |
2 pinch | salt |
1 | organic orange, a little grated zest |
1 tsp | bourbon vanilla powder organic |
¼ tsp | ground cloves |
1 | fresh egg |
1 | fresh egg yolk |
250 g | Betty Bossi Backmehl |
1 | fresh egg white |
1 tsp | lemon juice |
300 g | icing sugar |
How it's done
In a bowl, mix together the butter, maple syrup, salt, orange zest, vanilla powder and ground cloves. Mix in the egg and egg yolk and continue to stir until the mixture becomes lighter in colour. Add the flour, mix to create a biscuit dough, flatten a little, cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hrs.
On a lightly floured surface or between a cut-open plastic bag, roll out the dough in batches to approx. 7 mm thick. Cut out stars in various sizes and place on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
Bake for approx. 12 mins. in the centre of an oven preheated to 200°C. Remove from the oven, allow to cool on a cooling rack.
Use decorating icing to decorate the stars.
